180. Made obligatory [393] upon you that when death approaches anyone of you and if he leaves property [394] (behind him) that he should make a bequest for the parents and near relatives, according to existing customs. This is compulsory for those who fear Allah [395].

181. Then whoever alters it [the bequest] after he has heard it; the sin is only upon those who have altered it. Surely, Allah hears and knows [396].

182. Then if one fears that a testator has committed certain injustice or sin and then makes reconciliation [between them, the concerned parties], there is no sin [397] upon him. Verily, Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever Merciful.
